Library additions

I have quite a few volumes from online sources such as the Google Books, but I like books … actual books. There can be something different – special – about holding an author’s thoughts in one’s hands, especially if the volume is well designed and presented.

I’ve had a PDF of Battle in Africa 1879–1914 for a while, an excellent source for explanations of strategy and tactics. I decided to seek out a printed copy (old school, I know) and secured this mint edition.

I thought to add Wolseley’s diary of the Gordon Relief Campaign since it is a primary source for many of the other books that I have. I managed to get a first edition in really very good condition – just the slightly musty smell of an old book, for not a lot of money.

Two valuable additions to my burgeoning Sudan library.
